An open sincere comment to our Legislators almost a Billion dollar prison [minus $55 thousand] total of $945 thousand taxpayer dollars. Vote no on HB 1025

HB 1025 in its current form is clearly unacceptable. A small business owner, farmer, large corporation and others

in business community know it is not prudent

to spend your general fund cash flow account and budget reserves on a huge long- term project that will continue to drain

from the general fund even more year after year with ongoing expenses of upkeep maintenance and many others.

Building new prisons are not cheap keeping them going is even more expense. I am in support of replacing

the old part of the prison in Sioux Falls but

this bill clearly is not fiscally responsible in this form for legislators who are conservatives, liberals and those in between to support.

Consider funding education libraries and programs to educate not incarcerate with general fund dollars instead.

Please consider reworking the bill to use only the dedicated prison moneys to build and request a fiscal note

to estimate fairly close what ongoing general fund expenses will be going forward.
